| Forstner began manufacturing Jewelry in New Jersey in 1920's and continued until 1980. While in operation Forstner specialized in making the highest quality Gold Filled, Sterling Silver and Gold jewelry accessory items. The Forstner superior manufacturing process combined with using a thicker gauge metals compared to other manfactures, resulted in the highest quality products available in every product line they competed in. The rapid rise in gold and silver prices took place in the late 60's and through-out 70's were the reasons for closing in 1980. The Forstner tooling are dies were made to product thicker gauge heavier weight products. The competition they faced were making thiner lighter products which were better able to survive the rapid rises in gold and silver pricing. The Charms we are now offering now were made in the late 50's and 60's and are 50 to 100 percent thicker than charms made in the past 40 years |
